Symptoms of hydrocele

Symptoms of hydrocele may include:

1. Swelling: The most common symptom of hydrocele is swelling in the scrotum. This swelling may vary in size and can be fluctuating, increasing and decreasing in size throughout the day.

2. Heaviness or discomfort: The swollen scrotum may feel heavy or uncomfortable. This sensation may worsen with prolonged standing or physical activity.

3. Pain: In some cases, hydrocele can cause pain or a dull ache in the scrotum. The pain may be worsened by pressure on the scrotum or with increased activity.

4. Difficulty in walking: The enlarged scrotum can make it difficult to walk or perform daily activities comfortably.

5. Inability to wear tight-fitting clothing: The swollen scrotum may prevent individuals from wearing tight-fitting clothing comfortably due to the increased size and discomfort.

It is important to note that hydroceles are usually painless and harmless. However, if there is sudden onset severe pain or redness, it may indicate an emergency condition called testicular torsion, which requires immediate medical attention.
