As of June 2021, the most powerful supercomputer in the world is Fugaku, developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu in Japan. It achieved the top ranking in the TOP500 list, which ranks supercomputers based on their performance on the High Performance Linpack benchmark. Fugaku is capable of performing 442 quadrillion calculations per second (flops) on this benchmark, making it the fastest supercomputer to date.
