WW1 ship sunk by german submarines

There were several ships sunk by German submarines during World War 1. One notable example is the RMS Lusitania, a British ocean liner that was torpedoed by a German U-boat off the coast of Ireland on May 7, 1915. The sinking of the Lusitania resulted in the deaths of 1,198 passengers and crew, including 128 Americans, and played a significant role in the United States eventually entering the war.
