What is back strain

Back strain refers to an injury or damage to the muscles, tendons, or ligaments in the back. It typically occurs due to activities or movements that put excess strain or stress on the back muscles, such as lifting heavy objects, improper lifting technique, sudden or repetitive movements, poor posture, or overuse of the muscles. Back strain can result in symptoms like pain, stiffness, muscle spasms, decreased range of motion, and difficulty in performing certain activities. Treatment for back strain usually involves rest, pain medication, hot and cold therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, and proper body mechanics to prevent further strain.
