The types of different causative of malaria
There are four main types of malaria parasites that can cause the disease in humans:
1. Plasmodium falciparum: This is the most severe and deadly form of malaria. It is commonly found in Sub-Saharan Africa and is responsible for the majority of malaria-related deaths worldwide.
2. Plasmodium vivax: This is the most widespread type of malaria and is found in many parts of the world. While it is generally less severe compared to P. falciparum, it can cause recurring episodes of symptoms over several years if left untreated.
3. Plasmodium malariae: This type of malaria is less common and usually causes a milder form of the disease. It has a longer incubation period and can lead to chronic infection if not effectively treated.
4. Plasmodium ovale: This type of malaria is also relatively rare and is mainly found in western and central Africa. It is similar to P. vivax in terms of symptoms and recurrence, but is typically milder.
