1. Olivia picked 482 apples from the orchard’s largest apple tree. She divided
the apples evenly into 4 baskets. How many apples are in each basket? How
many are left over?
2. Olivia picked 256 strawberries from the orchard’s fields. She divided the
strawberries evenly into 6 baskets. How many strawberries are in each
basket? How many are left over

1. To find out how many apples are in each basket, we divide the total number of apples picked (482) by the number of baskets (4).

482 ÷ 4 = 120 R 2

So, there are 120 apples in each basket and 2 left over.

2. To find out how many strawberries are in each basket, we divide the total number of strawberries picked (256) by the number of baskets (6).

256 ÷ 6 = 42 R 4

So, there are 42 strawberries in each basket and 4 left over.
