Personal Goal making sure I stay away from alcohol or drugs.

What do I need to do to achieve this goal? (Identify at least 3 steps you need to take to reach this goal).

Two things I have learned from this course that will help me achieve this goal are:

1) I need to create a support system. This may involve seeking out a group, such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, where I can connect with others who are also trying to stay sober. I can also lean on friends and family members who are supportive of my goal and can provide encouragement and accountability.

2) I need to find healthy coping mechanisms and outlets for stress and emotions. This may involve trying different activities, such as exercise, meditation, or creative hobbies, that can help me manage my emotions and reduce the desire for alcohol or drugs as a way to cope.

3) I need to avoid triggers and situations that may tempt me to use alcohol or drugs. This may involve changing my social circles or avoiding certain places where substance use is prevalent. It may also involve developing a plan for how to handle cravings or difficult situations, such as having a list of alternative activities or a trusted person to call for support.

Two things I have learned from this course that will help me achieve this goal are:

1) Understanding the physiological and psychological effects of alcohol and drugs on the body and brain. This knowledge can provide motivation to stay away from substances and remind me of the potential consequences of using.

2) Learning about the importance of self-care and prioritizing mental and emotional well-being. By focusing on self-care, I can better manage stress, emotions, and cravings, making it easier to stay away from alcohol or drugs.
