The Trail of Tears

(one paragraph)
Who was involved? Think about the people or groups who were involved and affected by this event.

The Trail of Tears involved primarily the Cherokee Nation, a Native American tribe, and the United States government. Other Native American tribes, such as the Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole, were also impacted by the event. The Cherokee people were forcibly removed from their ancestral lands in the southeastern United States and made to walk thousands of miles to a designated Indian Territory in present-day Oklahoma. This forced relocation resulted in the deaths of thousands of Native Americans due to harsh conditions, disease, and violence.
