As their is many different requirments to vote in the 2023 days such as being a U.S citizen, meet your state residency requirement, must be 18 years or older, and must be registered to vote in your state. As most states have theses requriments I believe being 18 years or older should be changes a bit. As youre 18 some may not be out of highschool youre giving them an opportunity to vote for something the U.S has to deal with for the next 4 years. As being 18 your brain isnt fuly devolope if you want to vote being young,I think id be a great idea to have the votes right a claim and share it with one of your county representatives.

I respectfully disagree with your suggestion to change the requirement of being 18 years old to vote. While it is true that some individuals may still be in high school at that age, the current voting age of 18 ensures that citizens have reached a certain level of maturity and understanding of the political process.

Lowering the voting age would potentially allow individuals who are not yet fully developed mentally to have a say in important political decisions. Brain development and cognitive abilities continue well into the early twenties, and voting at a younger age may lead to uninformed or impulsive decision-making.

Furthermore, the voting age is consistent across the country, which ensures a standardized and fair process. Changing the voting age for some states but not others could create confusion and inconsistencies in the electoral system.

If young individuals are eager to participate and contribute to political discussions, there are alternative avenues available, such as engaging with county representatives or participating in local youth councils. These platforms allow young people to have their voices heard and influence decision-making without potentially compromising the integrity of the voting process.
