What's the difference between indictive and deductive reasoning?

Deductive reasoning is based on the concept of validity, meaning that if the premises are true, the conclusion must also be true.

For instance, if the general premise is "All mammals are warm-blooded," and the specific premise is "Dogs are mammals," then the deductive conclusion would be "Therefore, dogs are warm-blooded." In this case, the conclusion is certain, assuming the truth of the premises.
