Zooplankton do not directly obtain energy from the sun. Unlike plants and some other organisms, they are not capable of photosynthesis. Zooplankton typically depend on other sources of energy in the ecosystem such as feeding on phytoplankton, detritus, or other zooplankton. Therefore, zooplankton do not receive any percentage of energy directly from the sun.
