According to the Tennessee Child Labor Law, during the school year, 16-year-olds are allowed to work a maximum of 6 days per week. However, Tennessee law requires that minors under the age of 18 must have 10 hours of consecutive non-work, non-school time in a 24-hour period. Therefore, if you are 16 and working, you can work Sunday through Thursday while school is in session, as long as you adhere to the daily and weekly hour restrictions and the need for 10 hours of consecutive non-work, non-school time within a 24-hour period.
