The information in the genetics unit I best understood was the relationship between genotype and phenotype. It was clear to me that the genes (genotype) determine the observable characteristics (phenotype) of an organism. The topic that was most challenging for me to understand was the concept of gene mutations and how they can have harmful, neutral, or beneficial results. I would like to learn more about this topic because I find it fascinating how such small changes in DNA can have such significant effects on an organism's traits.
