The 6th amendment explains what a fair trial looks like including

It must be speedy (happen soon after the arrest)
It must be public
It must include an impartial jury of peers
The defendant has a right to counter sue
The defendant has a right to attorney representation if it is a felony charge

It must include the right to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation.

The defendant has the right to confront and cross-examine witnesses against them.
The defendant has the right to compel witnesses in their favor to testify.
The defendant has the right to have assistance of counsel for their defense.
