BODY SYSTEMS PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION

TASK - What am I supposed to do?
Prepare and submit a presentation/report comparing body systems of an animal of your choice and the same body systems in a human. (Ex. lion vs. human, bear vs. human, cat vs. human, whale vs. human, etc.)

STEPS - How do I do it?

1. Choose an animal. (Any animal in which you have an interest. Ex: lion, bear, cat, whale, etc.)

2. Choose 3 of the body systems from the list below:

Skeletal System Nervous System Integumentary System
Muscular System Respiratory System Endocrine System
Digestive System Excretory System Cardiovascular/circulatory System

3. Research the body systems you chose for your animal.

4. Research the same body systems for the human.

5. Compare the body systems of your chosen animal to that of humans.

6. Find 5 additional facts about your chosen animal. (Ex. general characteristics, habitat, etc.

7. Create a presentation or report that includes the following:

- Introduction: Introduce your chosen animal and explain why you chose it.

- Body Systems: Provide a brief description and function of the three body systems you chose for your animal. Include information on how these systems are similar or different in humans.

- Comparison: Compare the chosen body systems in your animal to the same body systems in humans. Discuss any similarities and differences you found.

- Additional Facts: Present the additional facts you found about your chosen animal. Include information on its general characteristics, habitat, diet, behavior, etc.

- Conclusion: Summarize the key points of your presentation/report and reiterate any interesting findings or observations.

8. Include visuals such as images or diagrams to support your presentation/report.

9. Proofread and revise your work for clarity, coherence, and accuracy.

10. Submit your completed presentation/report, either in the form of a slideshow, document, or video, depending on the requirements given by your teacher.

7. Organize your presentation/report by starting with an introduction, where you briefly introduce your chosen animal and mention the purpose of the presentation.

8. Create a slide or section for each of the three chosen body systems. Include a brief explanation of how the system functions in both the animal and human, highlighting any similarities or differences.

9. Include relevant images or diagrams to support your explanations. Visual aids can help enhance understanding and engagement.

10. For each body system comparison, highlight key similarities and differences between the animal and human systems. This could include differences in organ structure, adaptations, or special abilities.

11. Use specific examples or case studies to further support your comparisons. This can include scientific research or studies done on the chosen animal and human.

12. Transition into the additional facts about your chosen animal. Present these facts in separate slides or sections, providing interesting and relevant information about the animal's characteristics, habitat, behavior, or any notable adaptations.

13. Conclude your presentation/report by summarizing the key similarities and differences between the chosen animal and human body systems. Emphasize any unique features or adaptations that the animal possesses and may have an advantage over humans.

14. Include a reference or bibliography slide/section to acknowledge the sources used for your research. Make sure to properly cite any quotes, data, or images used in your presentation.

15. Review and revise your presentation/report for clarity, coherence, and accuracy. Make sure it flows logically and effectively communicates your findings and comparisons.

16. Practice your presentation to ensure confident delivery. Time yourself to ensure it fits within the allocated time frame, and consider preparing notes or cue cards to help you stay on track during the presentation.

17. Submit your presentation/report according to the given instructions, whether it's electronic submission or physical hand-in.

To prepare your presentation/report comparing body systems of an animal of your choice and the same body systems in a human, follow these steps:

1. Choose an animal: Select any animal that you are interested in, such as a lion, bear, cat, whale, or any other animal.

2. Choose 3 body systems: From the provided list, select three body systems that you want to compare between your chosen animal and humans. The options include the Skeletal System, Nervous System, Integumentary System, Muscular System, Respiratory System, Endocrine System, Digestive System, Excretory System, and Cardiovascular/Circulatory System.

3. Research the chosen animal's body systems: Begin by researching the three body systems you have selected for your chosen animal. Look for specific information about how these systems function, what organs/tissues are involved, and any unique features or adaptations that the animal has in these systems.

4. Research the same body systems in humans: Now, research the same three body systems in humans. Compare the functions, organs/tissues involved, and any notable differences or similarities between humans and the animal in these systems.

5. Compare the body systems: Analyze and compare the three body systems of your chosen animal with those of humans. Consider similarities, differences, adaptations, and any unique characteristics. Highlight the structural or functional aspects of each system that distinguish the animal from humans.

6. Find 5 additional facts about your chosen animal: To enhance your presentation, gather five interesting facts about your chosen animal that are not directly related to the body systems. These facts can include general characteristics, habitat, behavior, diet, conservation status, or any other intriguing aspects of the animal.

By following these steps, you will be able to gather sufficient information to create a comprehensive presentation/report comparing the body systems of your chosen animal and humans. Remember to organize your findings, provide clear explanations, and use visuals or images to support your points. Good luck with your presentation!
