The only currently active coal mine in Georgia is the Mindeli mine, located in Tkibuli, Imereti region. It is the largest and oldest coal mine in the country. However, it should be noted that coal mining in Georgia has significantly declined in recent years, and coal production is no longer a significant industry in the country.
The only source of coal in Georgia is the McKinney Mine located in Whitfield County.
