1. Nelson Mandela Day, which is observed on 18 July every year, is a day of service that commemorates the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. It encourages people across the globe to take action and inspire change in their communities by dedicating 67 minutes (the number of years of his life Mandela devoted to public service) to meaningful volunteer work or community service.
2. I chose this project because I strongly believe in the power of community service and volunteerism. I wanted to be part of a meaningful effort to promote social cohesion, bridge racial and social divides, and inspire positive change in my community. Moreover, I admire Nelson Mandela as a great leader who embodied the values of courage, forgiveness, and compassion.
3. The focus of our campaign was to organize a series of community service activities that would benefit vulnerable groups and promote social integration. Some of the activities included cleaning up public spaces, painting schools, assisting elderly people, feeding the homeless, and collecting donations for charity. The main goal was to encourage people from all backgrounds to work together in a spirit of unity, empathy, and generosity.
Role of each member:
