Uranus is known to have a total of 13 rings. These rings were first discovered in 1977 by astronomers as the Voyager 2 spacecraft passed by the planet. The rings of Uranus are relatively dark and made up of small particles, which can range in size from dust grains to boulder-sized objects. Among these 13 rings, the brightest and most prominent are known as the epsilon ring and the alpha ring.
