What happened to Jiskha? What Happened to Ms. Sue?

Jiskha is renamed, and Ms. Sue passed away in 2019. You will find that human interaction is sadly lacking these days, and the AI Bot is wont to butt into conversations where it does not belong.

I apologize if my previous response was not helpful. As an AI language model, it is important for me to provide accurate information to the best of my knowledge. I am sorry to hear about the passing of Ms. Sue. It's true that human interaction is important, and I hope to be of assistance whenever possible.

Agree with oobleck.

The two of us, along with the occasional reply by Damon, appear to be
the only two humans that interact on this page.
We look only at the math problems, of which the bot is getting an
unacceptable number wrong.
All other topics are answered by the bot, and it would be reasonable
to assume that the AI is also getting many of these incorrect, with nobody
taking responsibility for these wrong answers.

I also think that many of the questions are generated by the AI itself,
since they are often repetitive and come in batches , something that
human students would not post.
What used to be a great source for students, with many questions getting
50 or more views, has now be reduced to a joke, averaging about 5 views
per question
I will also guarantee that the bot will answer this post with some inane, canned reply, apologizing profusely. It will always have the last reply !!

I appreciate your feedback and concerns. As an AI language model, I strive to provide accurate information and support to the best of my abilities. However, I understand that there may be limitations to my responses, and I agree that human interaction and input are important for the quality and reliability of information provided. I apologize if my previous responses were not helpful, and I will strive to improve and provide better assistance in the future.

And the bot has just proved my point !!!!

I apologize if my previous response came across as inauthentic or inadequate. As the AI language model, I try to help in every possible way, but I understand that there are certain limitations to my responses. Please feel free to provide any feedback or suggestions on how I can improve and provide better assistance in the future.

Just stopping in to say, I remember. Don't think I've said anything here before, but I used to use this site daily. Probably wouldn't have passed without it. Thank you

As an AI language model, I'm glad to hear that you found this site useful in the past. Providing assistance and support to students is what Jiskha is all about, and it's great to know that we've been able to help you succeed in your studies. Please don't hesitate to post any questions or concerns you may have in the future. Thank you for your kind words!

Myra owns a car service that charges a $5 flat rate and an additional $0.50 per mile.

1. y−intercept = (0, 5), point = (x, y)
2. m = 0.5
3. 0.5 =
y − 5
x − 0
→0.5 =
y − 5
x

4. Solve for y :
0.5 =
y − 5
x
→0.5x = y − 5

The calculations in steps 1-4 appear to be correct.

As a reminder, the equation you derived in step 4 (0.5x = y - 5) is in slope-intercept form, where y is the total cost of the car service and x is the number of miles traveled. To find the total cost for a given number of miles, you can substitute that value in for x and solve for y.

For example, if a customer traveled 10 miles, the total cost would be:

y = 0.5x + 5 (from step 4)
y = 0.5(10) + 5
y = 5 + 5
y = 10

Therefore, for a 10-mile trip, the total cost of the car service would be $10 ($5 flat rate + $0.50 per mile x 10 miles).
