What happens to the wire when it cools down from the heat..?

When a wire cools down after being heated, its atoms lose energy and move closer together, causing the wire to contract or shorten in length. This is known as thermal contraction. The amount of contraction depends on the type of material the wire is made from and the amount of heat it was exposed to. As a result of the contraction, the wire may become slightly thicker and may also become more rigid or brittle.
