Part 2 – Proposed Solution

1. What is your proposed solution to the problem? This is the “What” part of your
business proposal.
The next two questions answer the “How” part of your business proposal.
2. What financial, human, and natural resources are needed to support the
proposed solution?
3. What should government, business leaders, and citizens do to make your
solution happen?
4. What positive outcome do you think will happen if your solution is carried out?
Consider how the solution will benefit the region and its citizens. This answers
the “Why” parts of your business proposal including why you want to carry out
your solution and why others (your audience) should help you.

1. Proposed Solution:

Our proposed solution to the problem is to establish a sustainable waste management and recycling system in the region. This will involve setting up a well-structured waste collection and segregation system, creating a waste-processing facility, and implementing education and awareness programs for the public regarding proper waste disposal and recycling.

2. Resources needed to support the solution:
- Financial resources: Funding will be needed for the construction of the waste-processing facility, the purchase of waste collection vehicles and equipment, and for maintaining the whole system.
- Human resources: A team of skilled waste management professionals and operations staff will be required to manage the waste collection, segregation, and processing tasks. Additionally, a team of educators and trainers will be needed to conduct the awareness programs.
- Natural resources: Land will be needed for the waste-processing facility, as well as space for recycling centers and drop-off locations.

3. Roles of government, business leaders, and citizens:
- Government: The government should provide financial support for the project through subsidies and incentives. They should also help in securing the required land, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in the whole process, and in developing waste management policies and regulations.
- Business leaders: Businesses should support the initiative by actively participating in recycling programs and encouraging sustainable waste disposal practices in their own organizations. They can also contribute financially by sponsoring programs or providing resources for the project.
- Citizens: Citizens should be responsible for their waste disposal and proactively participate in recycling programs. They should also be open to learning about the benefits of waste management and how they can contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.

4. Positive outcomes of the solution:
Implementing our proposed waste management and recycling solution is expected to fetch a number of positive results:
- Improved environmental health: A well-managed waste system will result in cleaner streets, reduced landfills, and a decrease in pollution caused by unregulated waste dumping.
- Enhanced quality of life: This will directly benefit the citizens by providing a cleaner environment and reducing risks of diseases and other health issues caused by poor waste management.
- Economic opportunities: A recycling system will generate new job opportunities and potentially even revenue streams by creating products from recycled materials.
- Increased public awareness and responsibility: Education and awareness programs will help in creating an environmentally conscious community, making sure that the citizens are actively participating in maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of the region.

By executing this solution, we aim not only to resolve the waste management issues faced by the region but also to contribute to the overall well-being of its citizens and the environment. We strongly believe that the support and collaboration of the government, businesses, and citizens alike will make a significant difference in achieving these goals.
