The new student's name was Max, and he had just moved to the area. He was nervous about starting at a new school and making friends. Lily could tell he was feeling overwhelmed, so she took him under her wing and showed him around the school. She introduced him to her friends and even invited him to sit with her at lunch.
As the days went by, Lily and Max became good friends. They worked on projects together and even joined the same after-school club. Max was grateful to have met Lily, and he felt much more comfortable at his new school.
In the end, Lily learned that a small act of kindness can go a long way.
