Geograph is an online encyclopedia of geographic information, created by the Geograph Britain and Ireland project. It was founded in 2005 by Dr. Ian West, a geographer at the University of Southampton. The project aims to create a comprehensive photographic record of the British Isles, and to provide a platform for people to share their knowledge and experiences of the local area. The project has since grown to include over 4 million photographs, and is now the largest online collection of British and Irish geography.
