Why put off until

tomorrow what you can do today? For
procrastinators, putting things off is the only way to work. For non-procrastinators, meanwhile, waiting until the last minute is a terrible, stress-inducing concept. Why wait, when you could use your time to do things as well and as early) as possible? We are all faced with chores, projects, and assignments that we don't want to do. If a task is intimidating and the reward of finishing it is in the distant future, we might be hit with the urge to procrastinate.
Procrastinators often put off large tasks in favor of completing less-important, smaller tasks. This gives the satisfaction of accomplishment much sooner, even if the task is less urgent. For example, you might suddenly find yourself very interested in cleaning your room from top to bottom when you are supposed to be working on an English paper. In another, less productive form of procrastination, you might lounge in front of the television, letting dishes pile up and getting nothing crossed off your to-do list. However, what's surprising is that procrastination isn't always negative. For example, some studies show that ignoring a proiect for a little bit can lead to more creativity in how you approach it.
Participants in one study were split into two groups and asked to come up with new business ideas. One group started the task immediately, and the other group played other group played computer games for five minutes before starting the task. The people who delayed their work had ideas that were rated twenty-eight percent more creative compared to those who completed the task right away.
