How do volcanoes affect albedo?

Volcanoes can affect albedo in two ways. First, when a volcano erupts, it can release large amounts of ash and aerosols into the atmosphere. These particles can reflect sunlight back into space, increasing the albedo of the Earth's surface. Second, when lava flows from a volcano, it can cover large areas of land with dark, heat-absorbing material. This decreases the albedo of the Earth's surface, as more of the sunlight is absorbed rather than reflected.
