Did you know?
Did you know that Mount Cleveland is not the only active volcano in its area? Although Mount Cleveland is the most well-known active volcano in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, there are several other volcanoes in close proximity. Some examples include Mount Pavlof, Mount Shishaldin, and Mount Okmok, all of which have erupted within the past century. The Aleutian Islands form part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where numerous volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur. The presence of multiple active volcanoes in the region highlights the geological activity and dynamic nature of this volcanic chain.
