What is the result of dividing 2x3+x2−2x+8 by x + 2?

Responses

2x2+5x−8
2 x squared plus 5 x minus 8

2x2−3x+4
2 x squared minus 3 x plus 4

2x2−3x+16
2 x squared minus 3 x plus 16

2x2+5x+8

(2x^3 + x^2 - 2x + 8) by (x + 2)

If you have not been taught, you should look into "synthetic division"

-2 | 2 1 -2 8
....... -4 6 -8
..... 2 -3 4 0

(2x^3 + x^2 - 2x + 8) ÷ (x + 2) = 2x^2 - 3x + 4

check: f(-2) = -16 + 4 + 4 + 8 = 0 , so the division is exact, as illustrated in my division.
