You answered my ques yesterday and I have a similar one.

When heating salicylic acid with methanol, you produce 5.0 mL of methyl salicylate and water.
1 C7H6O3 (s) + 1 CH3OH (l) 🡪 1 C8H8O3 (l) + 1 H2O (l)
Determine the quantity of each reactant needed to produce 5.0 mL of wintergreen oil (C8H8O3).

Density of C7H6O3 1.44g/mL, CH3OH 0.791g/mL, C8H8O3 1.184g/mL, H2O 1.00g/mL

I'd appreciate if you could just list out the steps and not do the calculations as I'd like to do that myself :)
I tried calculating and did
1) mass of C8H8O3: 1.184g/mL x 5.0 mL = 5.92 g.
2) moles of C8H8O3: 5.92g x 1mol/152g = 0.0389 mol
3) ratio of reactants and C8H8O3 is 1:1:1 so they all have the same # of moles
4) mass of C7H6O3: 0.0389 mol x 138g/1mol = 5.3682g
5) mass of CH3OH: 0.0389 mol x 32g/1mol = 1.2448 g

I assume that 5 mL is 5 mL of the wintergreen and 5 mL H2O and not 5 mL wintergreen and water.

I don't see anything wrong with your calculations.
