Each child ticket costs $3.50 less than an adult ticket. There were twice as many adult tickets sold as child tickets. Find the total
number of children who went to the zoo.
If total child ticket sales were c, then
c + c+896 = 1904
2c = 1008
c = 504
So, if there are x children, each child ticket costs 504/x
and each adult ticket costs 1400/(2x) = 700/x
Now,
700/x = 504/x + 3.50
x = 56 children
