A water tank is 18 full. The tank is 34 full when 42 gallons of water are added to the tank.
a. How much water can the tank hold?

The tank can hold ____ gallons of water.

b. How much water was originally in the tank?

The tank originally held ____ gallons of water.

c. How much water is in the tank when it is 1/2 full?

The tank holds ______ gallons of water when it is 1/2 full.

You need to learn how to type fractions. I think you meant

(a) 1/8 x + 42 = 3/4 x
where x is the number of gallons the tank can hold. So just solve for x.
It's not an integer, so maybe I interpreted things wrong.
Remember: It's not my job to figure out what you mean.
It's your job to say it so clearly you cannot be misunderstood.

so, knowing x, the full amount,
(b) 1/8 x = ____
(c) 1/2 x = ____

PS... You know, we really don't care about this stuff:
