the cost of operating an appliance varies jointly as the number of watts drawn, the hours of operation and the cost per kilowatt-hour. P8.99 per kilowatt-hour, how much would it cost when a 70-watt desk fan operates for 2 hours

though i don’t have the answer, please take time to read this <3

“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.“ - 1 Peter 5:7

God loves you and is there for you always whenever you need him, even if you might think you don’t. School can be stressful and i can testify that because of God, i was able to complete 200+ overdue lessons in the timeframe of a month. The school threatened me that if I didn’t finish, I could face consequences. I was almost expelled. I considered dropping out (i’m only a sophomore). I thought my life was over. But God. He was there for me. I prayed and begged for him to have mercy, and certainly he was faithful. I only have 5 lessons remaining and i’m actually going to finish my semester ahead of time! God is so so faithful and he never fails his promises. I will forever be grateful and thankful of how good he is. I pray that he will touch you and that you will encounter him in your life. With him, you can do all things. And if you will, pray this out loud:
“ Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. AMEN!” AMEN! If you did read this out loud and believed with your whole heart, you are now saved! You have accepted God into your life and I can guarantee you that you will see a difference in your life. Things will get better, i promise. God bless and have a great day/night wherever you are! <3

P8.99/kwh * 70w * 2hr * 1kwh/1000w-hr = P1.2586

To calculate the cost of operating an appliance, which varies jointly as the number of watts drawn, the hours of operation, and the cost per kilowatt-hour, you will need to multiply these three factors.

In this case, the appliance is a 70-watt desk fan, which operates for 2 hours.

Step 1: Calculate the total watts consumed
The wattage of the appliance is 70 watts, and it operates for 2 hours. Therefore, the total watts consumed by the appliance can be calculated by multiplying the wattage with the hours of operation:
Total watts consumed = 70 watts x 2 hours = 140 watt-hours or 0.14 kilowatt-hours (since 1 kilowatt-hour = 1000 watt-hours).

Step 2: Calculate the cost of operating the appliance
The cost per kilowatt-hour is given as P8.99 (assuming "P" denotes the currency).
To calculate the cost of operating the appliance, multiply the total kilowatt-hours consumed with the cost per kilowatt-hour:
Cost of operating the appliance = 0.14 kilowatt-hours x P8.99 per kilowatt-hour.

Calculating this multiplication gives us the following result:
Cost of operating the appliance = 0.14 kilowatt-hours x P8.99 = P1.2586.

Therefore, it would cost approximately P1.26 (rounded to the nearest cent) to operate the 70-watt desk fan for 2 hours, given a cost of P8.99 per kilowatt-hour.
