I have an experiment that I need to complete it is about how different substances react to another substance. Any ideas for I should do for my experiments? (The substances must be non toxic, ha ha!)

Thank you very much!

First question... what kind of reaction? There is four kinds:

Synthesis / Direct Combustion

Decomposition reaction

Single Displacement

Double Displacement

Those are just chemical reactions.

It is chemical reaction, but I just need a couple of ideas, friend. Thank you! :-)

You could try two gases(simple hydrogen gas combined with simple oxygen gas) it kinda depends on your resources too.

Thanks! I don't actually have to do the experiment myself, but thats a cool idea! I'll try it out! Thanks again! :-D

Certainly! Conducting experiments to observe how different substances react to one another can be both educational and fun. Here are a few ideas for your experiment using non-toxic substances:

1. Vinegar and Baking Soda Reaction: This classic experiment involves mixing vinegar (acetic acid) with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to create a chemical reaction that produces carbon dioxide gas. You can vary the amounts of vinegar and baking soda or test different types of vinegar to see how it affects the reaction.

2. Lemon Juice and Milk Reaction: In this experiment, you can observe how the acid in lemon juice reacts with milk. Mix equal parts lemon juice and milk in a transparent container and observe any changes. The acid in the lemon juice will cause the milk to curdle.

3. Saltwater and Egg Floatation: Fill different containers with water, and then gradually add salt to each container until you have different concentrations of saltwater. Carefully place a fresh egg into each container and observe the change in buoyancy. The higher the salt concentration, the higher the egg will float.

4. Mentos and Diet Coke Geyser: This experiment involves dropping Mentos mints into a bottle of Diet Coke, causing a fizzy eruption. Make sure to perform this experiment in a large outdoor area. Observe how different factors, such as the number of Mentos or the temperature of the soda, affect the eruption.

Remember to always conduct experiments in a safe and controlled environment, and carefully follow instructions and safety precautions for handling any substances involved. Enjoy your experiments!
