collect like term
12c + 6d -10c - 9d
What do you not understand about collecting like terms?
I can't find it in my book at this present time so I was trying to get a example or something. I haven't had Math in about 15 years. Thanks for all your help.
collect like term
12c + 6d -10c - 9d
Like terms are those terms with the same letter.
12c - 10c = 2c
6d - 9d = -3d
To collect like terms, you need to combine the terms that have the same variable(s) raised to the same power. In this case, we have two variables, c and d.
Let's start by combining the c terms:
12c - 10c = 2c
Next, let's combine the d terms:
6d - 9d = -3d
Putting it all together, we have:
12c + 6d - 10c - 9d = 2c - 3d
So, the collected like terms are 2c and -3d.
