A television costs 270.25 dollars including 15% tax. How much of the cost is tax?

270.25(1 - 1/1.15) = 35.25

p = 270.25/1.15 = 235

270.25-235 = 35.25

so,

35.25 = 270.25 - 270.25/1.15 = 270.25(1-1/1.5)
