Perseverance means to never give up during difficult times. For example, people may choose to persevere after experiencing a serious injury. Rosa Parks is a former civil rights leader. Rosa Parks’ words and actions showed that she persevered in order to stop civil rights.
On December 1, 1955 in the city buses of Montgomery. Rosa Parks was sitting the white section and when a white man asks her to give up her sit she said “no”. African American people are required to sit in the back of the bus. The law stated that African American should give up their seat if a white person wanted to sit down. The reason why Rosa Parks didn’t give up her sit is because she was tired of working all day and was tired of being made to feel inferior because of her skin color.
Rosa Parks worked really hard to continue to stop civil rights. She attends programs and participate in the organization that she developed the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development. After Rosa Parks broke the law, she was sent to jail. One of the main results of Rosa’s arrest and conviction was the attention the events involving her got from around the country. In 1999 she received the Congressional Gold Metal. This award is given by congress to “any individual who performs an outstanding deed or act of service to the security, prosperity, and national interest of the USA”.
Rosa Parks showed words and actions to persevere in order to stop civil rights. She stood up to the white man on the city bus who ask her to give up her seat, participate in programs, organizations and much more. Rosa Parks became a great civil rights leader and never gave up, that’s what I like about her, her dedication and hard work.

    You obviously don't understand civil rights. Those are rights that all of us should have -- rights to free speech, to associate with whom we want, to go where we want. However, in the South before the Civil Rights movement, blacks did not have many civil rights in the South. They had to go to different schools, drink from different water fountains, couldn't eat in white restaurants, and had to practically bow down to all white people.

    Rosa Parks and other civil rights leaders wanted to get civil rights for everyone. They worked to get rid of the laws that prevented blacks from having the same rights as whites.

    Please correct that sentence so that it and your essay shows what Mrs. Parks really did.
