Jan is on year younger than her brother Bill and on year older then her sister Sue. The sun of the three children ages is 57. How old is each child.k

Let x = Jan's age, then x+1 = Bill's and x-1 = Sue's.

x + (x-1) + (x+1) = 57

Solve for x.
