If a scale on a map is 2.5 cm to 30 miles..if two cities are 8 cm apart on the map what is the actual distance between the 2 cities?

I have 96 miles but not sure if that is right.

2.5/30 = 8/x
2.5x = 240
x = 96

2.5/30 is your scale

so 2.5/30=8/x
a proportion, so cross multiply
2.5x=240
x=96
