Express the following in degrees,minutes, and seconds:

a.4 --> (180/pi)*4 = 229.18312

b.0.23 --> (180/pi)*0.23 = 13.17803

c.pi(3.14159)/6 --> (180/pi)*(pi*3.14156/6) = 94.24778

d.3*pi/2 --> (180/pi)*(3pi/2) = 270

e.-1.4 --> (180/pi)*-1.4 = -80.21409

f.9.6 --> (180/pi)*9.6 = 550.03948

convert to degrees minutes and seconds I did the following:

229.18312 = 229 + (0.18312*60) = 229 degrees + 10.9872' = 229 deg 10' + (0.9872*60)" = 229 deg 10' + 59.2"

13.17803 = 13 degrees + (0.17803*60)' = 13deg 10' + 0.6818*60" = 13deg 10' 40.9"

94.24778 =94 degrees + (0.24778*60)' = 94deg 14' + 0.8668*60" = 94deg 14' 52"

270 = 270 degrees

-80.21409 = -80 degrees + (0.21409*60)' = -80deg 12' +

0.8454*60" = -80deg 12' 50.7"

550.03948 = 550 degrees + (0.03948*60)' = 550deg 2' + 0.3688*60" = 550deg 2' 22.1"

**MathMate**, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 8:10ama, b: correct

c. pi=3.14159, so you don't need to repeat

So it should be π/6*180/π=30°

d,e,f. correct.

Good work!
