Homework Help: Chem

How would a Lewis Dot Structure be drawn for CO +1? I can't seem to get it to satisfy the octet rule and have the right number of electrons.

How many electrons do you have?
1C = 1 x 4 = 4 electrons.
1O = 1 x 6 = 6 electrons.
Total is 10 electrons.
-1 electron because you have a +1 charge.
Net total electrons = 9 so there is no way you will get an octet out of that.
