How do you multiply decimals

If you look at the box up above that says jump, scroll down to the math section. If you select arithmetic you'll see a section on decimals there. That section has a subsection on multiplying them.

To multiply decimals, follow these steps:

1. Line up the decimals: If there are any decimal places in the numbers, make sure the corresponding digits are aligned vertically.

2. Multiply the numbers as if they were whole numbers: Ignore the decimal point for now and multiply the numbers as if they were integers.

3. Count the total number of decimal places in all the numbers being multiplied: Add up the number of decimal places in both the multiplication factors.

4. Place the decimal point: Starting from the right, count the total number of decimal places and place the decimal point in the answer.

5. Complete the multiplication: Multiply the numbers as if they were integers and place the decimal point in the correct position from step 4.

6. Simplify or round, if needed: If the product has too many digits after the decimal point, you may need to simplify or round the answer according to the desired level of precision.

Remember to practice using examples to fully understand the process of multiplying decimals.
