    I'm assuming 1/4x means (1/4)x or x/4. Y = -x + 5. Y = x/4 + 10. In Eq2, replace Y with -x + 5: -x + 5 = x/4 + 10 Multiply both sides by 4 and solve for x: -4x + 20 = x + 40. -5x = 20, X = -4. In Eq1, replace x with -4 and solve for Y: Y = -(-4) + 5 = 9.
