Why do we need/use capitalization?

to know the beginning of a story,if the word is a name,or if the word is a place.

Thank you!

We use capitalization in writing for several reasons:

1. To indicate proper nouns: Capitalization is used to signify the names of specific people, places, organizations, and things. For example, "John," "Paris," "Microsoft," and "Eiffel Tower" are all proper nouns and should be capitalized.

2. To start sentences: The first letter of a sentence is always capitalized. This helps to distinguish the beginning of a new thought or idea.

3. To highlight emphasis: Capitalization can be used to emphasize certain words or phrases within a sentence. For example, "I LOVE ice cream!" places emphasis on the word "LOVE," drawing attention to the strong feeling towards ice cream.

4. To differentiate titles: When referring to specific titles or positions, capital letters are used. For instance, "President," "Doctor," and "Professor" are capitalized when used before the name of the person holding that title.

To ensure accurate capitalization, it is essential to follow specific rules and conventions. Using capitalization correctly helps in conveying meaning, clarity, and professionalism in written communication.
