Write an expression for each of them.
Kay: x
Simon: x + 6

Use an equation to find the number of mugs Kay bought and the number of mugs Simon bought
x+6+x=32
^combine like terms
2x+6=32-6=26
2x=26
26/2= 13
Kay bought 13 Simon bought 19
