Use Charles Law to solve for the missing value of each of the following a) 80.0 mL, T1= 27 degrees C, T2=77 degrees C. V2 =?

b)V1= 125 L, V2=85.0L T2=127degrees C T1=?
c) T1=-33degrees C V2=54.0mL, T2=160.0 degrees C V1=?

can somebody help me with atleast a and do step by step so i can understand how to do b and c

80 mL....27 C. Kelvin = 27 + 273= 300 K.
V2.......77 C. Kelvin = 77 + 273= 350 K.

80/300 = V2/350
Cross multiply.
80*350 = 300*V2
Solve for ??
V2 = 80*350/300 = 93.3 mL
Check my arithmetic.
Check my work.

Do you know what Kelvin is? Why do you persist in using degrees C when it must be changed to Kelvin. The formulas don't work with C. They work only with Kelvin.

i don't know how to.. that's why i asked could if u could just help me step with step with how to do A. that way if i could see what i'm missing i could do the others and know how to do other questions.

i attempted to do b and c can you tell me if i did it right?

125...... T1
85.0 ....127 Kelvin 127+ 273= 358

125= 85
T1=358
125*358/85= 526.5

for C i did
V1... -33 C Kelvin -33+273=240
54.0ml....160 C Kelvin 160+273=433
V1=54
240=433
54*240/433=29.9
T1

c is ok.

b would be ok but you made an error in adding 127 + 273. My calculator gives me 400 and not 358. I THINK you added in 85 which is V2 and not 127 for T2.

Charles' Law is

V1/T1 = V2/T2
T must be in Kelvin.

80.0 = 27

77= ???
right
