3x-8 over 3x subtract 8 over 7y
please show all work help needed. I have no idea how to do it
(3x-8)/(3x) - 8/(7y)
the LCD = 3x(7y) = 21xy
so
= ( 7y(3x-8) - 8(3x) )/(21xy)
= ( 21xy - 56y - 24x)/(21xy)
or
= 1 - 8/(3x) - 8/(7y) right from the start
If the question said "simplify", either of my results is really any better than the original.
You didn't say what you wanted done with it.
