Are cheap imports of consumer goods from China being subsidized by insuffient investment in environmental protection in that country? What information would you like to have in order to answer the question more fully?

  3. We buy cheap products from China. One of the reasons that China can make them so cheaply is that its factories don't spend much on environmental protection. The coal-fired furnaces pump pollutants into the air. The water is polluted from industrial wastes.
