For a US history research paper,

What are the top three holidays in America?

Is it Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween?

What do you mean by "top three holidays?"

Are you including Canada and Mexico in America?

I'm sure that Halloween is not one of the top three holidays. It's not a legal holiday in any country.

Why wouldn't Halloween be considered one? IMO, Halloween is way bigger than Valentines day and posisbly New Years. I could be wrong! Just The United States of America

I understand that Halloween is a great day for children. However, it is not an official holiday. Check the first link above for a list of legal holidays. I'm sure you can find a holiday that's more important than Halloween.

Halloween, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day ... there are many "holidays" in this country that were devised and have been exploited by the businesses that make the most money from them!

The word "holiday" is a mix of "holy day" -- how does that knowledge affect what you think are true holidays?

I never thought about that!

The other major holiday could be Easter (for religious Christians) or Independence Day, July 4.

January 1 is also important for some people.

Veteran's Day used to be commemorated more than it is now.
