We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are.
How is this? Does it sound okay? It is how I interpreted. Thanks.
It means that we do not see things how they are, but we see them how we want them to be. We see what we want to see. We use our own personal judgements and add that to our own concept of what we are seeing.
