  1. Find the volume of a disk the diameter of the outer ring, and then the volume of a disk of the inner ring diameter, subtract them.

    Volumeouter=thickness*PI*radiusouter^2
    that should get you started.

  2. I don't see how a ring can be a cylinder. If it is a cylinder bent into a circular ring, then the thickness should equal half the distance between inner and outer diameters, but it doesn't here.
