Rewrite the equation as x^2 -12x +20 = 0
A perfect square that includes the first two terms would be
(x-6)^2 = x^2 -12+ 36
Therefore you can rewrite the original equation as
(x-6)^2 -36+20 = 0
(x-6)^2 = 16
x-6 = +/-4
x = 2 or 10
